When you read all the reviews of the so called best eye cream for dark circles and eye care in general, you sometimes have to rub your eyes to make sure you are not seeing things. Let me give you an example.
This product claims that its ingredients are unique and have never been seen or heard of before. Then they talk of powerhouse antioxidants. Pretty big claims so I did an investigation. This is what I found for that particular product.
This breakthrough product has two potentially harmful ingredients in it which are matrixyl and argireline. These are basically polypeptide chains which act on our neurotransmitters and tell our brain to stop contracting our muscles in our face so we become relaxed. That means fewer contractions and therefore fewer wrinkles such as the crows feet around the eyes.
Sounds great but this Botox in a bottle has not been extensively tested and there have been some cases of people having sagging or drooping skin after applying this particular mix. There have even been cases of a very minor type of facial paralysis. Until further results are available, it would be better to avoid these two particular ingredients when you are buying the so called best eye cream for dark circles.
So, what does work and what is safe?
Well, I looked at various products and this is what I found. The only really safe ones are those that are NOT using synthetic chemicals which are harmful to our health. These are the products which are paraben and fragrance free but they are also free of all the other nasty customers. It is estimated that these harmful agents make up about 33% of all skincare ingredients.
Frankly speaking there are very few companies who are using 100% skin friendly ingredients so you have to really seek them out. I did find though that if they are signed up for The Compact For Safe Cosmetics, it simply means they are not using these harmful agents at all. That is really key in finding the best eye cream for dark circles.
